Apparently there's a group of writers and academics in Vermont who want their state to secede from the Union. These pseudo-intellectuals are hilarious. All I can do is shake my head and laugh. I find it equally amusing how they think their little "movement" is actually going to convince a majority of Vermont's citizens--as liberal as they are--that America is an evil empire not worth being a part of anymore.

A friend of mine contends that "there are conservative and liberal troops just the same as there are conservative and liberal politicians." Not true. The military has long been a traditional institution, with most citizens joining up because they actually want to serve their country--and even on the battlefield, if necessary. The very concept of this goes in direct opposition to the modern liberal notion of non-violence and strong anti-military beliefs. Now, I am not saying that there aren't liberals in the military; however, what I am saying is that most of those in the military are there to protect you! And through aggressive means, no less. I am in the middle of digging up the proper information, but it should also be noted that only about one-tenth of one-percent of our active duty soldiers oppose the Iraq War; in a recent report given by 60 Minutes, I believe, they took a Military Times poll and skewed it, making it look like anti-war soldiers were growing, when they actually only represent a fringe minority. Just to add icing on the cake, I want to bring up the fact that President Bush won re-election because of the military. Some of you must not realize how conservative most military families are. Hopefully I have shed some light on the subject.

It is not my intention to get into politics on this site, but I just wanted to address this issue because it was bothering me.

Packing & Such

I am currently right in the middle of packing.

[I graduate in an hour and forty-five minutes!]

That's right, I waited until the absolute last minute to pack.

... ... ... ... ...

My brain is frazzled. :)

[Graduation. Whoa.]

Little Rock, here I come!

Breathe!

Though I just recently experienced a burst of motivation (which is a blessing), now I have to tell myself to slow down and breathe every once in a while. I am really quite amused by myself, actually. For a good portion of this semester I had been lacking motivation, so I had to make myself work anyway, and now, I'm having to make myself rest! Life can be such a balancing act at times, can it not? But, if I was to step back and observe my current state, I'd say that I was doing very well. Nothing has been thrown my way that I can't handle--and nothing ever will be--which is one of God's many promises that He has yet to break. And since God never breaks promises, I know that I'm in good hands. :)

Anywho...
I am so ready to graduate! I can't wait to get back to Little Rock where some "normalcy" can take place, and I can focus on finding a job and spending time with family and friends. May 12 is the day I walk that stage, receive my diploma, and finally open a brand new chapter in my life. This new chapter has arrived at just the right time, like all things under God do.

DINNER TIME!

Peace,

Josh <><
